Shaping Cabriole Legs
Instructor: Mark Murphy (F)

Thursday
9:00am – 5:00pm

Farmington Room

Skill Level: Intermediate

Students should bring: Jeweler’s saw, c-clamp (at least a 2” opening), small files, fine mechanical pencil, and a precision craft knife (#11 blade)

Cost: $140 for Guild Members/$150 for Non-Members

Max. Students: 10

In this class students will be doing all of the processes needed to shape a refined Queen Anne cabriole leg. This is the same process that I use when making simple tea tables, dressing tables, and highboys. We will be concentrating on making one perfect leg, including attaching the aprons and the corner blocks.

There will not be enough time to make a finished piece in class, but I will be providing each student with all the materials to make their own tea table at home. This will include all the pre-cut joinery. We will be discussing in class how all the joinery is created.

This class is meant to be a fun learning experience that can be used on future Queen Anne projects.
