INSTRUCTOR: Pam Boorum, Artisan
PROJECT: Stenciled Quilt
DATE AND TIME: Offered March 13, 1pm to 4pm or March 20, 1pm to 4 pm EST
Select from classic quilt patterns to make a 1:12 scale quilt. The stencils themselves are clear plastic – thin enough to allow you to get your colors fully in the corners, clear so that you can see where to place the patterns, and plastic for flexibility and easy cleanup. You will be stenciling your chosen pattern on a prepared grid on muslin. We will spend some time with a paper grid and colored pencils to simulate the effect of the colors and placement of the quilt motifs. A practice piece or two with the stenciling process will precede the actual application of craft paint in color(s) of your choice. We’ll cover design considerations, pitfalls learned over the course of time, and tips for finishing the quilt.
