Faux Finishing for the Miniaturist
Instructor: Christine McIntyre-Hannon
Wednesday, September 21 9:00am – 5:00pm
Artist Christine McIntyre-Hannon will teach by demonstration the tools, materials and color theory needed to create professional faux finishes in 1/12th scale. This class is tailored for beginning artists and crafters. Skills learned can be applied to wall and floor painting, furniture and trim work. Students will complete eight 2”x3” PVC sample boards that may be used in future projects (i.e. tabletops, floorboards, counters, etc).
Since 2003, Christine has been a full-time artist and faux finisher. Her mural business, Hannon Art Works, has completed projects throughout New England, including several Newport mansions, museum exhibits and buildings on the National Historic Register. Happily working “off the ladder” these days, Christine splits her time between designing jigsaw puzzles for several companies and creating miniature fine art.
All supplies will be provided for class use and students will leave with a step by step booklet of each finish covered.
