Introduction to 3D Design and Printing
Instructor: Shelly Bartlett-Farrell

Thursday, September 22
6:00 - 8:00pm

My goal, by demonstrating how simple and easy it is to get started in 3D designing and using a 3D SLA (resin) printer, is to shorten your learning curve, and to share tips to avoid some of the frustrations I experienced as a beginner.

You will learn to design a simple vase, using basic skills, upon which you can build your skills to master more complex designs.

I will be using the Shapr3D app to demonstrate design and an Anycubic Photon Mono 3D printer for hints and tips for printing. It is not necessary to bring a laptop or tablet in order to benefit from this seminar. Devoting all your attention to listening, watching, taking notes, and asking questions is of great benefit. That being said, some may wish to apply the skills learned during the seminar. A free version of Shapr3D is available from the website, and you are welcome to bring a device with the free (or paid) version already downloaded to your device. If you are a student, educator, or faculty member with a valid educational institution email address, you can download the same version I will be using, for free. See the Shapr3D website for more information. (I am not a representative of, nor endorsing, any of the above products. They are just what I use.)

Attendees will take home a 3D printed 1:12 scale vase, previously printed and ready to finish.

IGMA Members $65.00 / Non-Members $75.00
