Embark on a creative journey with Esther as she guides you in acquiring the skills to both paint and wire your very own 1/12th scale Tiffany style lamp with two bulbs.
This course will cover a range of techniques, starting from fundamental principles and progressing towards more advanced methods. The class aims to elevate the painting skills of participants, aligning them more closely with the iconic pieces of Tiffany. In Tiffany's creations, each glass section is characterized by not just a single color but by a rich array of variations in shade, tone, and overall effect. Participants will gain insights into creating subtle gradients, marbled effects, and utilizing the color white to enhance the visual appeal of their lamps.
Esther will demonstrate various ways to finish the lamp base, providing students with the opportunity to choose their preferred method while also exposing them to a variety of techniques that can be applied to future projects. In addition, students will learn a hassle-free, solder-free technique for wiring a table lamp with two bulbs.
The class is exclusively in video format, and participants will likely receive access to the content before the scheduled date. They are encouraged to watch the video and take note of any questions that may arise. A document outlining essential and optional materials for purchase will be provided. Esther will personally dispatch lamp parts and a practice piece to each participant. However, participants are responsible for acquiring paints and other materials locally, as shipping regulations prohibit the inclusion of liquids in the package.
On the scheduled discussion day, (March 16), participants will engage in a Q&A session, providing them with the opportunity to ask questions, seek further clarification on techniques, and showcase any previously completed lamps they have worked on.
